TEEMA is partnering with a fast-growing, technology-forward virtual CFO and cloud accounting firm that is expanding its Canadian team.

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Accountant who enjoys managing client relationships, reviewing accounting work, improving processes, and working in a modern cloud-based environment.

This is a 100% remote opportunity anywhere in Canada.

The Opportunity

You will manage a portfolio of Canadian clients across a variety of industries, including a growing concentration of not-for-profit organizations, professional services businesses, and other growth-oriented companies.

Rather than spending your day focused purely on transactional bookkeeping, this role is designed around review, client management, coaching, financial reporting, and process improvement.

You will work alongside Bookkeeping, Payroll, and Tax specialists while acting as a key point of contact for your clients.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Manage a portfolio of clients and ensure accounting deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with client expectations.
- Review bookkeeping completed by Bookkeeping Specialists and provide coaching and feedback.
- Prepare and review month-end and quarter-end financial reporting.
- Complete bank reconciliations, adjusting entries, clearing accounts, sales tax filings, AP/AR-related accounting, and other full-cycle accounting activities.
- Prepare year-end trial balances, working papers, financial statements, and proposed adjusting entries for handoff to the tax team.
- Participate in monthly or quarterly client meetings and explain financial results clearly.
- Identify accounting issues, service risks, and opportunities to improve client processes.




- Help clients improve workflows through automation and cloud-based accounting technology.
- Collaborate internally to improve processes, documentation, quality standards, and overall client delivery.
- Create procedures and training materials to support consistent service delivery.
- For selected advisory clients, assist with budgeting, forecasting, audit support, financing initiatives, and other financial analysis.
- Explore opportunities to use AI and automation to improve accounting workflows and client service.

What We’re Looking For

- 3+ years of full-cycle cloud accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Experience managing 10+ clients simultaneously is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a multi-client cloud accounting, outsourced accounting, bookkeeping, or virtual CFO environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero.
- Ability to review bookkeeping work and coach junior accounting/bookkeeping professionals.
- Experience with bank reconciliations, sales tax filings, payables, invoicing, adjusting entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong client-facing communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
- Solid attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong technology aptitude and interest in automation and process improvement.

CPA or CPB designation is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience with platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Dext Prepare, Karbon, WagePoint, Plooto, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Excel would be an asset.
