Empower women and children at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre as a Cultural Programmer. Lead the development of cultural, recreational, and educational programs designed to uplift community members.
As a key member of DEWC, you will be responsible for planning and implementing programs that align with our mission to support vulnerable women and children in Vancouver. This full time role requires collaboration with staff to create engaged programming and will be rooted in a feminist and anti-oppression framework.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan cultural and educational activities for community engagement
• Collaborate with DEWC members to tailor programs
• Facilitate arts and recreational groups for women
• Maintain meticulous records and manage scheduling
• Promote DEWC’s mission through social media and outreach
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years experience in women-serving roles
• Knowledge of issues in the Downtown Eastside
• Proficiency in IT and social media platforms
• Certification in First Aid & NVCI preferred
• Solid organizational and problem-solving skills
