This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for receiving, preparing, and delivering prescriptions accurately and timely; ensuring adequate inventory levels, counseling patients, and providing public‑relations education. It is a relief role with occasional travel within the Central/Southern Alberta region.
What you’ll do
Prepare, dispense and control medications accurately and timely to patients
Ensure medication and over‑the-counter supplement inventory levels are adequate to meet patients’ needs
Provide friendly, positive and proactive counseling to patients about current and additional medications
Create awareness and educate customers through public‑relations activities (public health days, clinics, etc.)
Provide timely and positive resolution to patients’ needs and doctors’ requests/issues
Review and control costs at all levels within the Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary)
Provide ongoing training for current and existing pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, students, IPGs)
Responsible for receiving, preparing and delivering prescriptions and clinical services (within scope) accurately and timely
What you’ll need
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a valid Class A Pharmacist’s license
Superior customer‑relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism
Excellent leadership and performance‑management skills
Proven ability to build the business using community‑based marketing strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Robust problem‑solving skills, including experience formulating and executing action plans
Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Healthwatch Pharmacy systems (definite asset)
