The successful candidate will be required to coordinate the delivery of nursing care for the sick and critically ill neonate. The nurse will participate in family teaching and provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of skilled nursing practice in the clinical setting. The nurse will be able to maintain positive working relationships with parents, families, and co-workers, and be able to independently manage multiple priorities.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide secure, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit,



the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Proficiency with Timeless, Connect Care, Microsoft Word, Outlook, MS Teams. Skilled in clinical decision making and priority setting. Demonstrated critical thinking skills. Excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary setting. Patient teaching and family support skills.

Post-graduate continuing education on breastfeeding teaching & support. NRP Instructor certification. Bachelor of Nursing. Experience attending neonatal resuscitation & neonatal admission. NICU experience within the last year. Level 3 NICU experience within last 5 years. Preceptorship of a final focus nursing student in last 2 years. Completion of NICU Certificate Program. Minimum of five years of current NICU nursing experience. NICU Charge Nurse experience within the last 2 years.
