Principal tasks and responsibilities include:
Oversee full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and reconciliations
Handle complex CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, recoveries, and realty tax billings
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for assigned properties
Prepare annual financial statements, cost statements, and audit packages
Collaborate with auditors, property managers, and stakeholders to maintain financial transparency
Assist with the financial integration of new property acquisitions
Support ad hoc financial projects and process improvements
Qualifications and pre-requisites:
3+ years of experience in property or real estate accounting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA designation (or in progress) preferred
Strong knowledge of full-cycle property accounting, including CAM reconciliations and financial reporting
Experience with ERP accounting systems; Yardi is a strong asset
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel to properties when required
