Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and lead the procurement function within a growing organization. Opportunity to build and grow a recent department
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. 100% in‑office position.
Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for all procurement activities.
Source and procure production materials, repair parts, consumables, maintenance services, and equipment rentals.
Build supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and contracts, and identify new sourcing opportunities.
Maintain inventory levels and accurate inventory records to support production.
Manage the procurement process, including RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, purchase orders,
and capital asset requisitions.
Coordinate deliveries and verify the accuracy of received goods.
Resolve purchasing, billing, invoice, and material discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.
Collaborate with the General Manager, maintenance, shipping, and accounting to support operational requirements.
Qualifications Post‑secondary education in business administration, commerce or economics, or equivalent experience.
3 to 5 years of experience in procurement.
Previous experience in procurement within construction or manufacturing.
Solid communication skills are essential.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is a significant asset.
Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
