About The Opportunity
The Senior Project Accountant will oversee the accounting for a portfolio of development projects. Working closely with leadership and project teams, you will take ownership of full-cycle project accounting, support financial reporting, contribute to process improvements, and provide guidance to accounting team members. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project accountant who enjoys a hands‑on role, wants exposure to larger and more complex developments, and is looking to grow within a collaborative and stable organization.
About The Position
Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and journal entries to support accurate month‑end and year‑end reporting.
Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to address accounting and financial matters.
Review the work of accounting team members, providing guidance and technical support where required.
Assist with external audits and the preparation of tax and regulatory filings.
Develop reports and perform financial analysis to support operational and business decisions.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and reporting requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
Support the timely completion of month-end and year-end close activities.
Contribute to special projects and other ad hoc accounting initiatives as required.
Requirements
Accounting degree or diploma.
CPA designation or progress toward CPA designation.
5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
Real estate development industry experience is preferred.
Previous experience coaching and mentoring accounting team members.
Experience with project accounting, WIP accounting, project cost tracking, and US GAAP and/or US tax.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working with ERP systems.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with robust attention to detail.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $90,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
