Who we need We are looking for a Sample Login Technician to join our laboratory team.
This is a detail-focused, data-driven role where approximately 80% of your time will be spent accurately entering sample information into our computer database.
As our Sample Login Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring samples are correctly logged into the system, with the appropriate test codes, parameters, project references, and other information entered accurately and efficiently.
You will work closely with Laboratory Operations and Customer Service to investigate and resolve issues and help keep laboratory workflows moving smoothly.

This is a full-time, contract in office role based in Waterloo, working Monday to Friday.

How you will make an impact Accurately enter sample information.
You will enter sample and project information into our computer database efficiently and accurately.
Data entry represents approximately 80% of this role, so attention to detail and consistency are essential.
Ensure the right testing information is captured.
You will use quotes, profiles, and master test code lists to ensure the appropriate test codes and parameters are entered for every job.
Maintain data quality.
You will verify information for in-house projects, including test codes and project references, and investigate discrepancies or outstanding issues to ensure information is complete and accurate.
Collaborate to resolve issues.
You will work with Laboratory Operations and Customer Service to investigate and resolve outstanding jobs or issues and escalate concerns when required.
Follow quality and safety standards.
You will follow Bureau Veritas quality systems, QA/QC procedures, SOPs, accreditation requirements, and safety policies in everything you do.
Support laboratory operations.
You may be authorized and trained to perform specific laboratory activities, which may include supporting method development, modification, verification or validation; analyzing results; and reviewing or authorizing results, as applicable to your training and responsibilities.
Keep things organized.
You will maintain good housekeeping standards, keep training records up to date, and contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

You have a university degree or college diploma in Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Previous laboratory experience is an asset.

You are comfortable with flexible working hours, overtime, and shift work based on business needs.
The physical capability.
You are comfortable standing for extended periods and performing some lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
The safety mindset.
You understand the importance of following established safety procedures when working around laboratory materials, including hazardous materials, and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
