Job Title: UX Designer (Intermediate) Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Work Model: Onsite Duration: 8 months Must Haves Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently. 3+ years of relevant experience in participating in complex projects (products) of different sizes, ensuring alignment to plans, best practices and incorporating user-centred design processes and agile (scrum) methodologies.
Must have Figma experience.
Expertise in UX software such as Just
InMind, InVision, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, and Zeplin. HTML5, CSS3, and JS skills (React, Angular, NodeJS), Azure Dev
Ops are a plus.
Robust communication skills - lead meeting and present to stakeholders.
Prior experience with Service Design framework and established design systems. *Portfolio link must be on the resume - must be accessible without password or attached along with the resume* Description / Responsibilities / Skills Technical knowledge and experience Experience mapping service blueprints and identifying operational dependencies across front-stage and back-stage interactions Web and accessibility standards, including W3C standards, WCAG 2.0 A/AA, and associated implementation and testing tools and methods such as JAWS, browser extensions, A/B testing tools, usability testing frameworks, and heat-mapping tools Commitment to design quality and consistency by ensuring all work aligns with the platform''s design standards, patterns, and guidelines Analytical and organizational skills Strong understanding of the four key delivery phases (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live) and how to apply UX practices within each stage.
Ability to interpret analytics (Google Analytics, Power BI or equivalent) to identify opportunities and validate design choices.
Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities, negotiating requirements with stakeholders, and leading complex projects from initiation through to completion.
Proven ability to establish work priorities, apply critical thinking, and use effective problem solving techniques to resolve issues efficiently.
Project management and leadership skills Responsible for UX initiatives, projects, and testing activities from planning through delivery, ensuring alignment with timelines, scope, and user centred outcomes.
Provide direction, technical guidance, and coaching to project team members, fostering collaboration, shared understanding, and cohesive execution across disciplines.
Communication, negotiation, and partnership skills Navigate differing perspectives using diplomacy and negotiation, guiding stakeholders toward user centered solutions that support project objectives.
Ensuring communication and design discussions consider divers audiences, language barriers, and accessibility needs for Ontarians Represent UX considerations confidently in meetings, presentations, and workshops, advocating for accessibility, usability, and evidence based design throughout the project lifecycle.
User Experience Design Experience in facilitate User Research and Usability testing activities to produce such outputs as: User Interview Topic Maps, User Interview Scripts, User Interview Synthesis,
User Research Findings Report Experience & Skill Set Requirements User Experience Design 40% Degree or diploma in graphic design; degree or certification in usability, human-computer interaction, and technical writing a plus Experience in facilitate User Research and Usability testing.
Accessibility compliance testing is a plus.
Experience in facilitate User Research and Usability testing activities to produce such outputs as: User Interview Topic Maps, User Interview Scripts, User Interview Synthesis (collection, aggregation and analysis) of written observations recorded during each interview, User Research Findings Report Relationship Management - 20% Demonstrated experience in communication and mediation skills with business teams and core team members to ensure Client projects (products) are progressing according to schedule Experience with strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live or similar delivery methodologies Ability to deliver on a (project) product with a balanced team (product owner, user experience designers, developers) by participating in Agile (SCRUM) delivery methodologies Technical Skills - 30% Expertise in UX software such as Just
