We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join a retail organization in Burnaby, British Columbia on a Long-term Contract basis.

This opportunity is well suited to an accounting specialist who is comfortable working in a high-volume workplace and can manage reconciliations across multiple bank accounts with accuracy and sound judgement.

The successful candidate will support month-end activities, work closely with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, and help maintain the integrity of financial records.

This role offers the chance to contribute to a collaborative accounting group while building hands-on experience with Oracle and complex reconciliation work.

Responsibilities: Perform detailed bank reconciliations for a large portfolio of accounts, including active and inactive accounts across multiple entities.

Investigate discrepancies by reviewing transactions, identifying root causes,



and following up with internal partners to resolve outstanding items promptly.

Collaborate with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to confirm postings and ensure reconciled balances are accurate and complete.

Support the month-end close process by preparing reconciliations and completing assigned tasks within a five-day close timeline.

Maintain accurate working papers and supporting documentation to strengthen audit readiness and reporting accuracy.

Monitor multi-entity and potentially multicurrency banking activity to ensure transactions are recorded appropriately.

Use Oracle and Excel to analyze financial data, track reconciliation status, and prepare reports for the accounting team.

Communicate reconciliation issues, trends, and unresolved items clearly to stakeholders and team members as needed.
