About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success. You will own the full lifecycle of enterprise deployments, integrating AI-native systems into complex environments and workflows. Your work involves translating ambiguous requirements into production-ready solutions that connect with document management systems, internal APIs, and identity protocols. You will drive direct customer impact by iterating on feedback and identifying repeatable patterns that influence the core platform roadmap, ensuring high-performance AI solutions are successfully adopted by large-scale legal organizations.
What You'll Do
Lead end-to-end implementation of AI-powered systems within complex enterprise organizations.
Design and build integrations between the platform and various document management systems, identity providers, and internal APIs.
Develop AI-native workflows involving approvals, routing, permissions, and auditability.
Collaborate directly with customers to translate ambiguous requirements into production-ready technical specifications.
Tune model inference and augment context to adapt the product experience to specific customer needs.
Iterate rapidly on user feedback to improve system reliability, performance, and adoption rates.
Identify repeatable deployment patterns to influence core product features and platform capabilities.
What You Bring
3 to 7 years of experience building and shipping production software systems.
Strong proficiency in backend or full-stack engineering.
Proven experience building APIs and integrating with external enterprise systems.
Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Technical exposure to LLM systems, including RAG, prompting, and evaluations.
Ability to work directly with enterprise customers to solve technical challenges.
Nice to Haves
Experience with enterprise SaaS deployments and document-heavy workflows.
Knowledge of security and compliance practices, such as SOC2.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically AWS CDK.
Background in fast-paced startup environments.
Familiarity with legal technology or highly regulated industries.

We don't waste your time and make it short and efficient. While it can vary from a person to another let's count 15 minutes to complete your profile, 15 minutes to do the video interview, 1 hour to complete the coding challenge.
How long from first contact until I start working?
This will mostly depend on the timeline of our client, but it can go really fast. If our client urgently needs a new developer, you could start working as soon as one week after the first contact.
What happens if I pass your vetting?
If you pass the vetting process successfully, you will be shortlisted, ranked and introduced to the client. If your profile is selected by our client, you will likely be interview by the hiring manager or your Mission team leads on the mandate.
How many interviews would I have to go through if I am selected?
While it depends on the client the minimum to expect is one. We provide the details when the candidate is selected for a first interview.
What happens if I am not selected?
If you're not selected for the specfic role you've applied for, you may still have a chance to join our community and apply for other role in the future. But to do so, you'll need to perform well on your coding challenge and have a great video recording.
How payment works?
Payment is processed monthly.
What currency are you using?

Do you provide paid vacations?
Mission doesnu2019t offer paid vacation time but can arrange for vacation time. We encourage you to include vacation time & health insurance into your hourly rate.
Can I apply to several roles?
Yes, as long as you match the requirements i.e. skills and location, you can apply to multiple roles. Please note that applying to roles for which you do not have the skills is not recommended and will impact your ranking in the future.
How do I know if my rate is competitive?
When you apply on the Mission platform you will get a rate suggestion based on the client budget, combined with other applicants and common rates used in the industry for a similar role.
