The City of Chilliwack is expanding and looking for a full-time Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in Training. Your key responsibilities will include operating treatment equipment, monitoring processes, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with mechanical and electrical repairs. This role demands sound knowledge of wastewater principles and the ability to work under various conditions while maintaining records and logs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment every shift
• Monitor plant processes and perform routine preventative maintenance
• Collect samples and conduct basic testing as needed
• Maintain accurate records and logs for all activities
• Assist with mechanical and electrical repairs and overall maintenance
Requirements:
• Completed grade 12 education requirement
• Ability to secure EOCP Wastewater Treatment Level I within 18 months
• Valid B.C. Driver's Licence required
• Familiar with operation and maintenance of wastewater systems
• Effective communication skills and public engagement
