This position is responsible for providingrepair and maintenance to a fleet of snow plows, salters, dump trucks, heavy and light trucks and loaders, etc.
This positionincludes diagnosis of causes of breakdown, ordering required parts, removal, rework and installation of various engine and chassis components, as well as implementing and /or modifying maintenance schedules.
Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, but the Mechanic will be expected to determine the nature and extent of the necessary repairs. ROA Inc. offers a competitive salary package, an incredible work environment, and career advancement opportunities.
Job Duties: Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline and diesel-powered units Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required Operate automotive servicing equipment Installation of new and added-on equipment Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics Repair cooling, and lubrication systems Install and align engines and machinery Repair mechanical transmissions, drive-trains and final drives Test repaired equipment for proper performance Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques Other mechanical repair work as required Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting Requirements: Preference will be given to those with the following:
Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training Appropriate credentials and certifications 310T or 421A License 5-10 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Possess a valid drivers license Mathematics, oral and written communication skills at the trade journeyman level Ability to work independently in a busy workplace Experience with routine maintenance operations Working knowledge of related maintenance and repair practices Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, motors, and air brake systems Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Able to work well under pressure Ability to deal with multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively Strong attention to detail Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all time Work Conditions Physical ability to lift up to50 lbs Travel to off-site locations is required Safety equipment will be required and supplied Overtime as required Days, nights and weekends Hazards associated with the trade Work both indoors and outdoors May be exposed to inclement and extreme weather Safety oriented Interested candidates may apply directly through this ad by clicking Apply.
