Role Description The Engineer in Training role at Komri Engineering is a full-time, on-site position based in Sudbury, ON. This role involves supporting senior engineers in the design, analysis, and preparation of drawings and technical documentation for civil, structural, mechanical, and welding engineering projects. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with calculations, drafting and reviewing plans, participating in site visits and inspections, and helping prepare reports and project deliverables. The Engineer in Training will coordinate with project managers, vendors, and clients to ensure technical requirements are met and timelines are maintained. The role also includes learning and applying relevant codes and standards,



contributing to continuous improvement, and developing professional engineering competencies under supervision.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in core engineering principles (civil, structural, or mechanical) and ability to perform basic design calculations and analysis.
Proficiency with engineering design and drafting tools (e.g., CAD software) and familiarity with applicable codes and standards.
Ability to assist with project coordination, documentation, and scheduling in a multidisciplinary engineering setting.
Effective research, problem-solving, and analytical skills to support innovative and practical engineering solutions.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, documentation, and collaborating with team members and clients.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, or related discipline) and eligibility or intent to register as an Engineer in Training (EIT).
Willingness to work on-site, conduct field visits, and engage in hands-on project activities in industrial and construction environments.
Attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Experience or coursework in welding engineering, concrete and foundation design, or mobile equipment design is considered an asset.
