JOB DESCRIPTION Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq.ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq.ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq.ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq.ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catchbasins.
RESPONSIBILITIES Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on all production and facility equipment and systems
Assist with troubleshooting all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Troubleshooting PLC Programs and Programmable Controllers
Conduct equipment inspections as required or as outlined by the preventative maintenance schedule to detect and diagnose issues
Report detailed records of work performed to Management
Contribute to plant upgrades and improvements
REQUIREMENTS Must hold a valid provincial certification as a Journeyman Electrician
Journeyman Industrial Mechanic/Millwright or equivalent experience is considered an asset
5 to 7 years’ experience in a heavy industrial environment
Robust troubleshooting/problem solving skills with the ability to clearly communicate
Strong Electrical and PLC experience is essential
Experience in the maintenance of overhead cranes is considered an asset
Welding tickets considered an asset
Available to work shifts on a flexible basis including short notice of overtime
