Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on HR Manager – Employee Relations & Compliance to join our team for a 12-month maternity leave contract. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this role will lead day-to-day HR operations with a robust focus on employee relations, payroll, performance management, employment compliance, benefits, HRIS administration, and employee programs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR skilled who enjoys working closely with employees and leaders in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance:

Lead employee relations matters, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, progressive discipline, attendance, and employee concerns.

Coach managers on performance issues, documentation, corrective action, and HR best practices.

Manage workplace accommodations, modified duties, return-to-work programs, disability management, and employee leaves.

Coordinate terminations, resignations, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle matters.

Ensure compliance with Ontario's ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA, AODA, WSIB requirements, and Company policies.

Performance Management & HR Operations:

Manage probationary reviews, performance evaluations, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), and employee development processes.

Support promotions, transfers, organizational changes,



succession planning, and workforce planning.

Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, forms, employee communications, and employment documentation.

Manage employee records, HR workflows, reporting, and administration through HUMI HRIS.

Payroll, Benefits & Leave Administration:

Execute and oversee payroll processing, ensuring payroll is completed accurately and on time.

Manage payroll audits, adjustments, vacation and statutory holiday calculations, ROEs, garnishments, reimbursements, and payroll reporting.

Administer employee benefits, vacation, medical, maternity/parental, and other leave programs.

Prepare and review reports related to payroll, attendance, overtime, compensation, headcount, and labour costs.

Strong hands-on payroll knowledge and payroll execution experience is a must for this position.

HR Programs & Organizational Support:

Manage staffing agency relationships and support agency workforce administration.

Support salary reviews, bonus administration, employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.

Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational changes, HR projects, and continuous improvement.

Monitor HR metrics and provide reporting and recommendations to support business decisions.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

5+ years of progressive, hands-on HR experience, preferably within manufacturing or another fast-paced operational environment.

Strong experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, accommodations, and employment compliance.





Hands-on payroll processing and execution experience is required.

Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including the ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA, AODA, and WSIB.

Experience with benefits administration, leaves, HRIS, and employee lifecycle management.

Strong communication, judgment, organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.

CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Work Arrangement: Full-time, onsite
