We are looking for a Benefits Coordinator toplay a key role in supporting employees through retirement and pre-retirement planning, ensuring they receiveaccurateinformation, expert guidance, and exceptional service every step of the way.
As a Benefits Coordinator,you'llhave the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the employee experience while working with a diverse group of internal partners acrossthe Organization. As BC Ferries continues to support a growing number of employees approaching retirement eligibility, this role offers the chance tohelp employees transition confidently into retirement while shaping and improving the processes that support them.

The Role
Reporting to thePayrollManager, you willprovidea range of payroll administration and benefits coordination services that support employees across the organization. You will:
Administer employee retirement and pre-retirement processes, including preparing and reviewing retirement bonus and pre-retirement leave calculations;
Advise employees on retirement optionsin accordance withcorporate policies, procedures, and applicable agreements;
Respond to employee inquiries and provide clear,timely, and confidential supportregardingbenefits, retirement provisions, and entitlements;
Prepare retirement calculations, retirement letters, records of employment (ROEs), accrual reports,
and other benefit-related documentation and reporting;
Investigate discrepancies, review data for accuracy, andfacilitatesolutions for complex retirement scenarios;
Collaborate with People Experience, Accounting, Scheduling Services, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee information and payroll transactions;
Track and manage employee requests, ensuring inquiries are resolved within expected timelines while delivering a positive employee experiencethrough exceptional service and communication;
Contribute to process improvements, documentation updates, and operational efficiencies within Payroll services;
What you bring to the team
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designationisrequired
Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or a related fieldispreferred
A minimum of 3 years' experience administering payroll and employee benefits, including working with payroll and timekeeping systems, related data processes, and employee support
A minimum of 3 years' experience interpreting and applying complex collective agreements
Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to research, interpret, and apply complex policies, procedures, and agreements
Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel and Word, including reporting and data analysis functions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands
Strong attention to detail, including experience auditing records and documentation for accuracy and compliance
Robust organizational skills with the ability tomaintainaccuraterecords and documentation
Proven ability tomaintainconfidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism

Additionalinformation
The target salary range: $57,400- $71,700 per annum. The starting salary isdeterminedbased on the successful candidate’s knowledge,experienceand internal equity.
