Driver Trainer / Dispatcher

SOUTHLAND Transportation may have the opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a Trainer/ Dispatcher to join our growing team based in North Battleford.

This hybrid position is ideal for an experienced industry professional who enjoys both training and mentoring drivers and supporting daily dispatch operations. You will play a key role in supporting driver performance and day-to-day operations.

Schedule: Monday through Friday (schedule may vary based on operational needs)

Wage: $25.00 per hour and benefits

Qualifications:

- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 license with S endorsement (or willing to obtain)
- Driver training or instructor experience is considered an asset
- Experience in dispatcher, training, customer service, or the school bus industry
- Good knowledge of North Battleford and surrounding area
- Strong communications skills with the ability to train, coach, and interact professionally




- Ability to handle stressful situations in a composed and skilled manner
- High level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and professionalism
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

- Conduct classroom and on-road training for new drivers and provide ongoing support to current drivers
- Assess driver performance and document training progress using internal systems
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating drivers and ensuring routes are covered efficiently
- Respond to the driver and public inquiries and resolve concerns in a timely manner
- Ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and on time
- Maintain awareness of fleet availability and coordinate with Maintenance as required
- Keep appropriate staff informed of operational issues, changes, or concerns
- Drive or cover routes as required
- Perform general office duties as needed
