ABOUT THE PROSPECT
NL Health Services – Eastern Urban Zone invites applications for a full-time Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist to join the Division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology at the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. John’s, NL.
The Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre is a 71-bed tertiary care referral hospital for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It has an active Pediatric Residency Program affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland, with most pediatric subspecialties represented.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution.
- Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatric Hematology Oncology, or eligibility for certification in Pediatric Hematology Oncology.
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (https://www.cpsnl.ca).
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services, including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide specialized outpatient and inpatient assessment, diagnosis, and management of children with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Deliver comprehensive care to children and youth with blood disorders and cancer.
- Participate in the Division’s shared clinical workload and ensure timely access to care.
- Provide consultation and support for multidisciplinary care teams.
- Collaborate with allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive, family-centered care.
- Contribute to medical education by teaching undergraduate and postgraduate learners.
- Participate in the Pediatric Hematology Oncology on-call schedule.
- Promote patient- and family-centered care, ensuring safety and quality improvement in all clinical activities.
REMUNERATION
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador, with compensation based on years of clinical experience.
