**Job Description:**
**Position Outline:**
The main purpose of this position is to maintain plant mechanical uptime by inspecting, servicing, overhauling and repairing equipment within processing and packaging areas in a safe and efficient working manner.
Equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and problem solving are critical aspects of this position.
Duties and Responsibilities: Repair and service all types of equipment.
Effective troubleshooting of problems to minimize downtime
Report equipment status and overhaul equipment on a planned schedule.
Installation of new equipment, machines and conveyors.
Inspect and repair broken parts: including welding and machining
Communicate equipment repair requirements to production and maintenance team leaders in a positive and pro-active manner
Log daily work effort and failure root causes for team reference
Ability to work a flexible work week is also required. (i.e.
Sunday to Thursday, or Tuesday to Saturday.
Must also be willing to work afternoon and night shift.
Some overtime may be required
Skills and Qualifications: 433A Millwright mechanic certification
Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent
2-3 years food manufacturing experience an asset.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and value team effort.
Must be dependable and be comfortable with decision-making.
Good computer skills are required.
Self-starter who is willing to take the initiative and be a team player.
Provide timely and high-quality work with exceptional attention to detail.
Solid people and communication skills (both oral and written)
Excellent organization and time management skills
**Important Details:**
This is a full‑time, permanent position on the night shift, operating
**11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday** .
Overtime may be available depending on business needs.
The hourly rate is
**CAD 44.92** , plus a
**night‑shift premium of CAD 1.35 per hour** .
