Value & Risk Advisory Analyst - JLL
What this job involves:
JLL is seeking a Valuation & Risk Advisory Analyst to join our dynamic team in Toronto, ON. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to build a career in commercial real estate valuation while working on institutional-grade properties across diverse asset classes. You'll collaborate with experienced professionals on high-profile assignments, developing expertise in market research, financial modeling, and appraisal analysis. As part of JLL's integrated platform, you'll gain exposure to complex transactions while contributing to deliverables that inform critical investment decisions for leading institutional clients. What your day-to-day will look like:
Collaborate with local leadership and senior valuers to prepare market research reports, cash flow projections, and comprehensive appraisal analyses for institutional-grade multi-family, industrial, retail and land asset classes
Utilize AI-powered tools and automation technologies to enhance data collection, improve analytical accuracy, and increase efficiency in preparing valuation deliverables
Conduct detailed research on market fundamentals, comparable transactions, rental rates, ownership structures, tax assessments, and tenant information using both internal databases and third-party sources
Develop accurate cash flow projections and financial models using ARGUS Enterprise, Excel, and other industry-standard valuation software
Collect, verify, and organize market and property data, ensuring JLL's proprietary databases remain current and accurate for ongoing client deliverables




Participate in property inspections in the local market to gather first-hand information on building conditions, tenant improvements, and physical characteristics
Support the team's institutional clients with their acquisition due diligence, asset management valuations, and lending requirements across their commercial real estate portfolios
Ensuring data collected as part of on-going assignments is entered accurately into the company database in a timely fashion.
Continuously upgrading the level of knowledge regarding market and industry trends
Required Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Real Estate, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or other relevant education
1-2 years of professional experience in commercial real estate (valuation, brokerage, investment, urban planning, research, or related field)
Candidate status with the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) or commitment to pursue and maintain Candidate status by completing AIC requirements (minimum one course per year toward designation)
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel including financial modeling capabilities
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present research findings clearly and professionally
Valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle and availability to travel locally for property inspections
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and operate with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ARGUS Enterprise or similar real estate analysis and valuation software
Familiarity with AI tools, data analytics platforms, or automation technologies that enhance valuation workflows
Prior experience preparing or assisting with appraisal reports, market studies, or investment analyses
Knowledge of capital markets trends, investment real estate fundamentals, and valuation methodologies
Familiarity with CoStar, Altus InSite, Urbanation, MLS, or other commercial real estate data platforms
Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial work




Self-motivated professional with high integrity who can work independently while contributing effectively to team objectives
Estimated compensation for this position:
55,000.00 - 60,000.00 CAD per year
This range represents the estimated base salary and actual compensation may differ. Final base salary is determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations. Some roles and employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, benefits, or other compensation.
