Salary: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
About the role We are seeking a dependable, hard-working Civil Pipe Layer / Labourer to join our underground utilities and site development crew. In this role, you will play a key part in installing and repairing utility systems, including storm, sanitary sewer, and water main lines as well as being involved in grading and earthworks.

What you'll do Lay concrete, PVC, HDPE, and ductile iron pipe for water, sewer, and storm drain systems according to plan specifications and grade stakes.
Experience working in trenches involving showing systems
Understand cut/fill sheets, line stakes, and use pipe lasers, or laser levels to ensure accurate line and grade placement.
Safely rig pipes, manholes, catch basins, and heavy fittings for excavator hoisting using slings, chains, and shackle assemblies.
Assemble trench boxes, place bedding material, and operate compaction equipment (jumping jacks, plate tampers, roller compactors).
Cut pipe to required lengths using quick-cut saws, bevel pipe ends, and make mechanical or push-on joint connections using proper gaskets/lubricants.
Promote and enforce company safety protocols,



safe tool operation, and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
Assist operators with daily equipment checks, site cleanup, hand digging around live utilities (potholing), and general labor tasks as assigned.

What you bring Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a pipe layer or heavy civil laboring on utility projects.
Strong understanding of pipe bedding, jointing techniques, trench safety, and slope/grade calculation.
Proficiency operating compaction equipment, pipe lasers, quick saws, and basic hand/power tools.
Ability to perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly, bending, and working in trenches.
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to and from work
Strong communication, willingness to follow safety directives, and a collaborative attitude on a team-oriented job site.
Ability to work overtime or weekends as required by project schedules.
Willingness to work in different areas such as Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford
Confined space certificate is considered an asset.
