Job Summary:

The Clinical Research Assistant will support the Manitoba Tumour Bank and the Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute at CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB).

The Clinical Research Assistant will primarily be responsible for:

Screening and recruiting current project participants

Assisting with organization and scheduling of study appointments

Obtaining informed consent from eligible participants

Assisting in the collection of biospecimens from patients

This position will actively ensure adherence to research protocols, procedures, reporting requirements and/or facility regulations are being followed. The Clinical Research Assistant will also be assist with research project administrative activities.

Qualifications:

Required

Level of Formal Education & Experience

Undergraduate degree in a health-related field

-or-

A diploma in a health-related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a research setting.

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.





Ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong time management skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, flexibility, initiative and independent decision-making skills.

Critical/analytical thinking skills.

Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

Ability to safeguard confidentiality.

Must be legally able to work in Canada

Preferred

Experience working in a health-care environment.

Experience in a research-related healthcare setting.

Experience working with databases.

Ability to speak French

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Must be able to work safely in a typical office environment with frequent meetings at multiple locations throughout the organization, and to lift and carry items
