**Job Title: Millwright**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of high-speed processing and packaging machinery in a food manufacturing environment.

You will support equipment conversions for new product formats, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure that all production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and quality standards.
**Responsibilities**
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed machinery in processing and packaging areas to ensure reliable and efficient operation.

Convert high-speed packaging machines to accommodate new product format changes, ensuring accurate setup and smooth transitions.

Investigate equipment performance issues, recommend improvements, and execute mechanical modifications to enhance existing equipment.

Perform regular safety inspections, lubricate equipment, and make repairs or adjustments as required to maintain safe and optimal operation.

Monitor machines in operation on a continual basis to detect problems early and exercise sound judgment in making necessary adjustments to maintain quality control standards.

Perform minor electrical repairs on machines to reduce downtime and maintain production flow.

Accurately complete all required paperwork, including closing work orders, creating notifications, and documenting preventive maintenance completion.

Collaborate with the Engineering department on machine modifications and assist with the installation of new machinery and production systems.

Work closely with operating colleagues to ensure production of high-quality products while maintaining budgeted efficiencies and minimizing waste.

Understand and follow established food safety systems and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements.

Ensure that all products produced meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety requirements at all times.

Actively participate in the development and application of IL6S tools and systems, including Equipment Criticality classification (A, B, C), Adjustment Points, Centerlines, Visual Controls, Cleaning Inspection Lubrication (CIL), troubleshooting manuals, and technical documentation for the team.

Actively participate in line changeovers and sanitation activities while identifying opportunities for improvement through Poka Yoke and Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) principles.

Participate in the correction of issues using Root Cause Analysis tools to eliminate recurring breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.

Support and contribute to a team-based maintenance culture by sharing technical expertise and assisting colleagues as needed.
**Essential Skills**
3–5 years of experience as an industrial mechanic or millwright in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues on high-speed processing and packaging equipment.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.

Hands-on experience with hydraulics and mechanical systems in an industrial setting.

Valid 433A industrial mechanic (millwright) license.

Computer literacy and comfort using maintenance-related software and systems.

Experience with industrial equipment installation and commissioning.

Ability and willingness to work various shifts, including alternate shift structures, weekends, nights, and holidays.





Strong commitment to following GMP and food safety requirements in a production environment.

Capability to perform minor electrical repairs safely and effectively.

Solid judgment and decision-making skills when monitoring equipment and making adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Lift truck license is an asset.

Previous experience using SAP or Maximo for maintenance management is an advantage.

Experience working in a food manufacturing or similar regulated environment.

Familiarity with IL6S tools, including Equipment Criticality classification, Adjustment Points, Centerlines, Visual Controls, CIL, and troubleshooting manuals.

Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Poka Yoke and SMED.

Experience using Root Cause Analysis tools to investigate and resolve equipment issues.

Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and maintenance team members.

Comfort working in a peanut-handling facility and ability to safely perform duties in that environment.

**Work Environment**
This position is based in a food manufacturing plant environment with active processing and packaging lines.

You will work around high-speed machinery and production equipment in a peanut-handling facility, and must be comfortable working in this type of setting.

The work environment includes exposure to noise, raw materials, some dust, and variable temperatures.

Personal protective equipment is required, including protective footwear and hearing protection, as well as hard hats and safety glasses when needed.

You will be part of a maintenance team of approximately 20 people, including about 14 millwrights and 2 maintenance planners, reporting into a maintenance leadership structure.

The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including alternate shift structures, weekends, nights, and holidays, to support around-the-clock production operations.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Scarborough, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $44.00/hr.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Scarborough,ON.
