**Job Title: General Laborer**
**Job Description**
The General Laborer performs a variety of physical tasks in a manufacturing plant, operating hand and power tools to support automated production.

This role focuses on assembling products using automated assembly equipment and robotic weld cells, while maintaining high quality standards and strictly following safety protocols and workplace policies to ensure productive and consistent production.
**Responsibilities**
Inspect and check parts for defects to ensure products meet quality standards.

Operate and tend automated assembling equipment, including robotic and fixed automation systems, in a safe and efficient manner.

Use small hand tools such as grinders and buffing wheels to prepare, finish, or modify parts as required.

Identify, record, and report defects or nonconforming products according to established procedures.

Follow all relevant safety legislation under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and comply with all internal safety policies and procedures.

Clean, organize, and perform preparation of the work site to maintain a safe, orderly, and effective production area.

Stand for extended periods while performing repetitive assembly and production tasks.

Handle materials and products safely, including lifting items up to 30 lbs as needed.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain consistent workflow.

Support continuous improvement by following standardized work instructions and suggesting opportunities to improve safety, quality, or efficiency.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum 6+ months of manufacturing or assembly experience, preferably in automotive or general manufacturing environments.

Hands-on experience operating automated assembling equipment, including robotic and fixed automation systems.

Proficiency using hand tools such as grinders and buffing wheels in a production setting.

Experience with quality inspection, including inspecting and checking parts for defects.

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.

Ability to stand constantly and perform repetitive assembly tasks during the entire shift.

Comfort working with robotics and automated assembly equipment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify and document defects.

Commitment to following safety procedures and working in compliance with OHSA and company safety policies.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is an asset.

Familiarity with robotic weld cells or similar automated systems is beneficial.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new processes and equipment.





Good communication skills to report issues and collaborate with team members and supervisors.

**Work Environment**
This position is based in a manufacturing plant that uses automated assembly equipment, robotic weld cells, and a variety of hand and power tools such as grinders and buffing wheels.

The work is physically active, requiring constant standing, repetitive assembly tasks, and lifting up to 30 lbs.

Training takes place on the day shift for approximately 1–2 weeks, after which you move to either afternoon or night shifts and must remain open to all shifts.

Typical shift times are: Days 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Afternoons 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., and Nights 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

The environment follows strict safety policies aligned with OHSA, with an emphasis on clean, organized work areas and adherence to all safety procedures and protective practices.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Amherstburg, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.55 - $20.00/hr.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Amherstburg,ON.
