Summary We are seeking a Data Modeler to support the development and maintenance of conceptual, logical, and physical data models that meet business and technical requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and engineering teams to define data structures, relationships, metadata, and data standards across enterprise platforms.
This role will perform data profiling, data quality assessments, and data lineage analysis while contributing to data governance, documentation, and data modeling best practices within Azure and Microsoft data ecosystems.
Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business requirements, technical standards, and enterprise architecture objectives.
Define and document data structures, relationships, metadata, business rules, and data standards to support consistent and scalable data management practices.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, architects,
and engineering teams to gather data requirements and translate them into effective and maintainable data model designs.
Support data architecture and engineering teams in establishing enterprise data structures that enable reporting, analytics, integration, and operational business processes.
Perform data profiling and data quality assessments to identify data issues, improve data consistency, and support trusted data assets.
Conduct data lineage analysis to document data movement, transformations, and dependencies across enterprise platforms.
Support data integration initiatives by ensuring data models align with source systems, data pipelines, and downstream analytics and reporting requirements.
Contribute to data governance initiatives by maintaining metadata, data definitions, documentation, and modeling standards.
Ensure data models and related artifacts support governance, compliance, security, and privacy requirements.
Develop and maintain model documentation, diagrams, and data artifacts to promote consistent understanding and use of enterprise data.
Contribute to the adoption of data modeling best practices across Azure and Microsoft-based data platforms.
Requirements 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models within enterprise data environments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric to support enterprise data management, analytics, reporting, and modern data platform capabilities.
Strong experience with SQL Server and Azure SQL for designing data structures, managing relational data models, and supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
Experience using Power BI to understand reporting requirements, data relationships,
and analytical data structures that support business intelligence initiatives.
Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory to support data integration, transformation, and movement of data across enterprise systems.
Proficiency with enterprise data modeling tools such as Visio , ER/Studio , and erwin for creating, documenting, and maintaining data models and related artifacts.
Experience defining data standards, metadata, business rules, and governance practices that support trusted and well‑managed enterprise data assets.
Knowledge of data profiling, data quality assessment, and data lineage practices used to improve data reliability, traceability, and consistency.
Understanding of data integration, data warehousing, enterprise reporting, analytics, and data architecture principles.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Knowledge of data governance, compliance, privacy, and security requirements related to enterprise data management.
