Lead projects as a Senior Protection and Control Technician with WSP across various states including Washington, Idaho, and Nevada. Utilize your expertise in complex electrical testing and commissioning to drive success in utility substations.
WSP is searching for an experienced Senior Protection and Control Technician for their POWER Testing and Energization team. This role involves working directly on high voltage substations, applying advanced technical skills, and providing critical support in testing and troubleshooting. You will collaborate with junior staff, support field operations, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform testing of protection and control systems in substations
• Conduct hands-on protective relay testing using advanced devices
• Lead safety briefings and job hazard assessments on-site
• Optimize data documentation through digital tools and mobile apps
• Coordinate with subcontractors for testing and equipment deployment
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 9+ years in electrical testing industry
• Solid knowledge of protective relay calibration and testing
• Proven experience with standards like NETA and IEEE
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently
