Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Home Child Care Provider to provide full time care for a young child in a private home setting.

This position requires continuous supervision and hands-on assistance with daily living activities. The caregiver will often work independently in the home and must be able to follow established care routines while ensuring safety and well-being at all times.

Responsibilities

- Provide continuous supervision and in-home child care
- Assist with daily routines including personal care and diapering
- Provide physical assistance with lifting, positioning, and mobility support
- Supervise and support use of mobility aids and structured movement activities
- Assist with feeding (1–2 meals per day) including slow pacing and close monitoring
- Follow structured daily routines including play, rest, and learning activities
- Support mobility and activity routines as directed by parents
- Use and respond to mixed communication methods (speech, signs, picture-based tools)
- Provide redirection and support during moments of distress
- Maintain safety awareness at all times
- Perform light housekeeping related to child care




- Provide after-school supervision and care for a 7-year-old child when home from school, including play, routines, and general supervision alongside primary caregiving duties

Qualifications

- Experience caring for children required
- Experience in a home child care setting required
- Experience with high-supervision childcare is preferred
- Experience with assisted feeding, mobility support, or structured routines is an asset
- Ability to safely support a young child requiring physical assistance with mobility
- Ability to follow structured instructions and work independently
- Patient, calm, and safety-focused approach
- CPR/First Aid certification is an asset
