Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help build and operationalize Azure infrastructure-as-code capabilities, with an initial focus on Azure API Management.

Approximately two-thirds of the role will focus on Azure API Management, with the remaining one-third supporting broader Platform Engineering initiatives. APIM is a foundational component of the Azure ecosystem and is currently at an early stage of development, with a non-production instance in place and the basic network connectivity underway.

The successful candidate will help move APIM from its current non-production state through testing, implementation, and production release.

This includes solving complex challenges related to networking, authentication, API publication, vendor connectivity, operational processes, and release management.

This is an implementation-focused role.

The broader architecture is approximately 80% established, and the key need is someone who can translate that architecture into a working solution within a complex enterprise ecosystem.

Skills and Requirements
• Strong hands-on experience implementing and operating Azure API Management.
• Experience moving APIM or similar platform capabilities through non-production testing and into production.
• Strong experience with Azure infrastructure as code and automation.
• Experience translating architectural designs into practical implementations within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of API management, including API publication, onboarding, authentication, connectivity, and ongoing management.
• Experience working through complex Azure networking and authentication requirements across multiple systems and parties.
• Experience supporting production or near-production platform capabilities, including troubleshooting and operational improvement.
• Ability to work effectively with internal product development, integration, infrastructure operations, and platform engineering teams.
• Experience engaging with external vendors, SaaS providers, or other technical partners to resolve implementation challenges.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Patience and adaptability when working with teams and external parties with varying levels of technical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently, manage complexity, and make progress within tight timelines. • Experience with Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus, Kubernetes, cloud networking, or other foundational Azure services.
• Experience developing reusable infrastructure-as-code modules, automation, deployment pipelines, or release processes.
• Experience establishing or improving an operational practice for a cloud platform capability.
• Experience working in a complex enterprise or regulated setting.
• Experience supporting multiple vendors or external parties with different technical constraints.
• Experience working with Microsoft or Microsoft consulting partners on Azure architecture or implementation.
• A blended background combining deep APIM expertise with broader Azure platform engineering experience.
