Division: Data Science & IT Architecture Work Status: Full-Time
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) About the Role: The Data Science team at Corus is looking for a Data Analyst to help turn trusted data into useful insights, reporting, and data products. In this role, you will support Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and business partners by preparing data, validating datasets, building dashboards, and helping teams use data with confidence. Reporting to the Director of Data Science, you will collaborate with partners across IT, Digital, Broadcast Technology, and business teams.
This role is well suited to someone who is curious, organized, comfortable learning new tools, and interested in growing within a cooperative data science practice.
You will contribute by: Supporting Data Scientists and Data Engineers with data preparation, data validation, and repeatable analysis workflows
Helping build and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reporting outputs that make data easier for business teams to use Documenting data sources, business rules, definitions, access requirements, and known data quality considerations Assisting with data pipeline and workflow tasks, including source data review, ETL rules, QA checks, and connections to reporting or analytics tools Monitoring the integrity of datasets stored in data lake, data warehouse, or analytics environments, including versioning and data lineage notes where applicable Helping respond to data access, security, and review requests in partnership with IT, audit, legal/regulatory, and business stakeholders Collaborating with Data Science team members to improve team standards, reusable templates, and ways of working
Communicating findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders through concise documentation, visuals, and presentations
Coordination of audit process framework including periodic reviews and notifications to business owners Skills and experience you will bring: BA/BS degree in Computer Science/Computer Programming, certificate in data analytics or related field along with 2+ years of experience working with data At least one year of relevant experience working with data, reporting, analytics, business intelligence, data quality, or related project work
Comfort working with SQL, spreadsheet tools, and at least one analytics, dashboarding, or visualization platform such as Power BI, Looker, Data Studio, Tableau, or similar tools
Ability to investigate data issues, ask thoughtful questions, and translate business needs into clear data requirements or analysis steps
Strong attention to detail and an interest in data governance, privacy, security, and responsible use of data
Required to communicate effectively in a team environment and explain technical information in a clear, accessible way
Experience working with Agile Ability to organize work, manage competing priorities, and follow through on deliverables in a collaborative environment
Foundational scripting or analytics experience in Python, R, or a comparable language is an asset.
Experience with cloud-based analytics environments, such as Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, or similar data platforms, is an asset. Curiosity, accountability, and a desire to learn every day
