Title: Labour Relations Business Partner Location: Head Office - Delta, BC with Hybrid Opportunities Job type: Full Time Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum About the Role At Alpine, our People & Culture team works closely with our operations leaders to help navigate the day-to-day challenges that come with a large, fast-paced and unionized workforce. We're looking for a Labour Relations Business Partner who brings strong labour relations experience where you'll be a trusted advisor to operations, helping leaders understand and apply collective agreements, manage employee issues, and build productive relationships with our union partners. You'll work through a wide range of matters, from grievances and discipline to investigations, attendance, accommodations, performance concerns, and changes in the workplace.

You'll need to be comfortable having difficult conversations, challenging decisions when needed, and providing practical advice that considers both the collective agreement and the needs of the business.

What You Will Be Doing

Provide day-to-day labour relations advice, including collective agreement interpretation and application Manage grievances from intake through resolution and participate in grievance and labour-management meetings Coach leaders on progressive discipline, attendance management, performance, workplace conduct, and other employee matters Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with union representatives Lead and participate in collective bargaining, including preparing proposals, researching issues, developing bargaining strategies,



and negotiating collective agreements Support the implementation of new collective agreements and ensure negotiated changes are applied consistently Provide guidance on seniority, scheduling, hours of work, overtime, leaves, job postings, and other collective agreement provisions Identify labour relations trends and work with leaders to address concerns proactively and improve workplace practices Conduct workplace investigations and provide practical, balanced recommendations Support accommodations, return-to-work processes, and other matters where collective agreement and legislative requirements intersect Advise leaders on employment legislation, human rights, occupational health and safety, and other workplace requirements Maintain accurate documentation and records related to labour relations matters Partner with the broader People & Culture team on organizational changes, policies, programs, and initiatives with labour relations impications Support special projects, other duties, events,



and changing operational requirements What You Will Bring 5 + years of progressive human resources experience with significant labour relations experience in a unionized environment Strong experience interpreting and applying collective agreements in a day-to-day operational setting Demonstrated experience managing grievances, progressive discipline, workplace investigations, attendance management, accommodations, and other complex labour relations matters Experience participating in grievance meetings, labour-management meetings, mediations, arbitrations, multi-employer negotiations or other formal labour relations & processes Confident advising and coaching leaders through difficult employee and workplace situations Strong understanding of labour and employment legislation Strong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced multi-union operational environment where priorities can change quickly Ability to travel to worksites as required Must be able to obtain and maintain company and/or client-required security clearances About Alpine
