Full-Time Housekeeper / Family Assistant

Live-In or Live-Out | Acreage just outside of Calgary, Alberta

A busy family of five with three children, ages 5, 7, and 9, is looking for a reliable, kind, organized, and proactive Full-Time Housekeeper / Family Assistant to help care for their home and support day-to-day family life.
The family lives on an acreage, just outside Calgary, in a large estate home. The primary focus of this position is housekeeping and maintaining an organized, well-run home, with some occasional childcare and family assistance as needed.
The family is open to both live-in and live-out candidates.
For a live-in candidate, a private bedroom and bathroom are provided, along with meals and accommodation at no cost. For a live-out candidate, reliable transportation to and from the family's home in Priddis is required.

This position would be a good fit for someone who takes pride in keeping a home clean and organized, enjoys working around children and pets, and is comfortable helping wherever needed in a busy family household. The family values someone who is dependable, respectful of privacy, trustworthy, and able to work independently.

Position Details

- Full-time position, averaging approximately 40 hours per week
- Compensation negotiable based on experience and qualifications
- Open to live-in or live-out arrangements

- Family vehicle available for work-related use when needed
- Regular scheduled time off and personal time will be respected
- Some flexibility may occasionally be required for evenings or weekends

Primary Responsibilities – Housekeeping

The main responsibility of this role is maintaining a clean, comfortable, and organized family home.

Responsibilities may include:





- General household cleaning and upkeep
- Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Dusting and surface cleaning
- Laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting clothing away
- Changing bed linens and making beds
- Kitchen upkeep, dishes, and loading/unloading the dishwasher
- Keeping household spaces tidy and organized
- Light organizing and decluttering
- Maintaining household supplies and advising when items need to be replenished
- Grocery list maintenance and pantry organization
- Garbage and recycling
- Light outdoor tidying around family and children's areas

Meal and Household Support

- Basic meal preparation and occasional meal-planning support
- Preparing children's snacks or lunches when needed
- Assisting with household online purchases
- Assisting with easy household organization, research, or planning
- Helping prepare for family activities or events as needed

Occasional Childcare Support

From time to time, some occasional childcare responsibilities may include:

- Supervising the children in a positive and caring manner
- Helping with children's routines before or after school
- Preparing children's snacks or lunches
- Providing occasional childcare when parents are unavailable
- Helping with the children during family outings or events when needed

Pet Care

The family has a dog, cat, and chickens,



so the successful candidate must be comfortable around animals.

Light pet-related duties may include:

- Feeding pets
- Letting pets in or out
- Occasional dog walking
- Helping with basic pet-related household tasks

Requirements

- Previous professional housekeeping, residential cleaning, household support, or family assistant experience preferred
- Comfortable providing occasional childcare
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable transportation to and from Priddis if applying as a live-out candidate
- CPR and First Aid certification ideal
- Current police background check required before starting
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Comfortable swimmer, as there is a pool on the property
- Comfortable around pets
- Basic cooking skills
- Organized, dependable, proactive, and trustworthy
- Able to work independently and identify tasks that need attention
- Respectful of family privacy and confidentiality

Experience working in a private household, family assistant position, housekeeping role, or live-in domestic position would be considered an asset.

Live-In Arrangement

For candidates interested in living on the property:

- Access to all on-site amenities available, including a pool, hot tub, gym, theatre, golf simulator, and arcade

Live-in is not required. The family is equally open to a qualified live-out candidate.
