Nipissing First Nation is seeking a caring, approachable, and community-minded individual to serve as a Student Engagement Liaison. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting youth, building positive relationships with students and families, and helping remove barriers to school attendance and success.

What You'll Do in the Role

- Monitor and address student attendance concerns, including investigating chronic absenteeism.
- Meet with students and families to provide guidance, support, and referrals to help improve school attendance and engagement.
- Promote awareness of school attendance requirements and support successful school re-entry.
- Collaborate with schools, school boards, community agencies, and support services to develop intervention plans for at-risk students.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, educators, and community partners to support student success.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and confidential documentation.
- Prepare required notices and reports while ensuring compliance with privacy, child protection, and reporting requirements.
- Support student well-being through early intervention, advocacy, and coordinated support services.

Vacation Time:

What You Bring to the Table

- Must have a Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Education, Criminology or a related field
- Preferred bachelor's degree with training in student support or attendance intervention
- Preferred Certifications in Child Protection, Restorative Practices or Attendance Counselling
- Training in youth mental health, trauma-informed practice and conflict resolution
- Communication and relationship-building
- Problem-solving and sound judgment
- Cultural sensitivity and equity-minded practice
