- -Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- -BScN preferred.
- -Current BCLS certification.
- -Current Certification in Venipuncture.
- -2 years recent surgical experience within the past 3 years.
- -Health teaching skills that demonstrate broad surgical nursing know ledge.
- -Member of RNAO preferred.
- -Satisfactory attendance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
- -Provision of nursing care to meet the Standards of Practice of College of Nurses.
- -Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, involving the patient and family.
- -Act as a liaison for patients/families with members of the health care team.
- -Work collaboratively to identify and implement process improvements to better meet the needs of patients and families.
- -Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
- -Participation in various hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives.
