Helicopter Acquisitions & Technical Sales – AS350 / A-Star
Location: British Columbia, Canada
Compensation: CAD $120,000–$150,000 base salary + 5% of gross profit
Travel: Approximately 7–10 business trips per year
Remote: Possible for the right candidate, with approximately one week per month spent in the BC office
Position Overview
We are searching for an experienced helicopter professional to join a well-established aviation organization in a Helicopter Acquisitions & Technical Sales capacity. This position will focus heavily on the Airbus AS350/A-Star market and requires someone who understands these aircraft from both a commercial and technical standpoint.
The successful candidate will be involved throughout the aircraft acquisition and sales process, including identifying aircraft opportunities, evaluating aircraft, supporting pre-buy inspections, negotiating transactions, developing customer relationships, and helping move aircraft from acquisition through resale.
What They Are Looking For The biggest requirement is direct AS350/A-Star experience . The company is willing to consider candidates from different aviation backgrounds, but they need someone who genuinely understands the A-Star market and can speak credibly with aircraft owners, operators, maintenance organizations, and buyers.
Ideal experience could include
- AS350/A-Star aircraft sales or acquisitions
- Helicopter brokerage
- Pre-buy inspections and aircraft evaluations
- Helicopter maintenance or technical operations
- Aircraft valuation and market analysis
- Identifying off-market aircraft opportunities
- Negotiating aircraft purchases and sales
- Building relationships with helicopter operators and owners
- Understanding aircraft records, maintenance status, component times, and overall aircraft condition
Sales & Acquisition Responsibilities This person will help identify helicopters that may be available for purchase, develop relationships with operators and aircraft owners, evaluate potential acquisitions, and assist with negotiating transactions.
Once an aircraft is acquired, the individual will also help position and market the aircraft for resale while working with customers throughout the sales process.
The company is currently completing approximately 4–5 helicopter transactions per year , giving the successful candidate the ability to earn significant additional compensation through the 5% gross-profit commission structure .
Technical Responsibilities
This is not strictly a traditional sales position. The company wants someone capable of understanding the technical side of an AS350 and helping determine whether an aircraft represents a good acquisition.
Experience reviewing aircraft condition, maintenance history, component times, records, upcoming inspections, modifications,
and potential maintenance exposure would be highly valuable.
Location & Travel The preference is for someone located near the company's British Columbia office who can be regularly involved with the team and aircraft.
They are willing to consider a remote candidate with strong AS350 experience. A remote employee would need to spend approximately one week per month in British Columbia in addition to normal business travel.
Travel for aircraft inspections, customer meetings, acquisitions, and other business needs is expected to be approximately 7–10 trips per year .
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: CAD $120,000–$150,000
- Commission: 5% of gross profit on aircraft transactions
- Current transaction volume is approximately 4–5 helicopters annually
- Medical benefits with approximately 80% prescription coverage
- Dental coverage
- Two weeks of paid vacation
Ideal Candidate The strongest candidate will be someone who knows the AS350/A-Star community , understands the aircraft, and can combine technical credibility with the ability to develop relationships and close transactions. This could be an excellent prospect for someone currently working in helicopter sales, brokerage, acquisitions, maintenance, technical services, or pre-buy inspections who wants to move into a role with significant responsibility and strong earning potential.
The key requirement is AS350/A-Star knowledge. Someone can be taught aspects of the company's sales process, but they need to walk into the position already understanding the aircraft and the A-Star market.
