Position Overview
Reliance Barker Davies is hiring a full-time Accounting Administrator to join our team in Val Caron, Ontario.
This permanent position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day accounting and administrative functions of the company. The Accounting Administrator will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, shipping and receiving documentation, and maintaining accurate financial and administrative records.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role suited for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller and other members of the RBD team to ensure transactions are processed accurately, accounts are kept current, and accounting records are properly maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities
As the Accounting Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the daily accounting and administrative activities of RBD. Key responsibilities include:
- Accounts Payable
- Process and enter supplier invoices accurately and on a timely basis
- Match invoices to purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation
- Review supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare and organize vendor payments for approval
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records
- Communicate with suppliers regarding invoices, payments, and account inquiries
- Accounts Receivable
- prepare and issue customer invoices
- Apply customer payments to the appropriate accounts and invoices
- Monitor outstanding accounts receivable balances
- Follow up on outstanding customer accounts as required
- Investigate and resolve customer account discrepancies
- Maintain accurate customer account records
- Reconciliations & Accounting Support
- Perform regular bank account reconciliations
- Reconcile company credit card accounts
- Review outstanding transactions and identify discrepancies requiring correction
- Ensure outstanding journal entries and clearing items are properly addressed
- Maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions
- Assist the Controller with month-end procedures and other accounting requirements
- Provide accounting documentation and information as required
- Shipping & Receiving Administration
- Coordinate and maintain shipping and receiving documentation
- Prepare packing slips, shipping documents, and other required paperwork
- Ensure incoming and outgoing shipments are properly documented
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal personnel regarding shipments
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving records
- Assist in resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving documents, and supplier invoices
- Administrative Support
- Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting records
- Assist with purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Respond to general customer and supplier account inquiries
- Support management and the Controller with administrative and accounting-related tasks
- Assist with maintaining accurate information within the company's ERP/accounting system
- Perform other related accounting and administrative duties as required

Requirements, Qualifications, and Experience
- Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting administration role
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations
- General understanding of accounting principles and transaction processing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience working with an ERP or accounting system
- Strong data-entry and record-keeping skills
- Experience with shipping and receiving documentation considered an asset
- Experience in a manufacturing, mining, or industrial environment considered an asset
- Accounting, bookkeeping, or business administration education considered an asset
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Compensation & Benefits Reliance Barker Davies offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
