About Us The Center Sports Complex is seeking reliable, confident, and knowledgeable individuals to join our basketball department as Adult Basketball League Game Officials.

Our adult basketball leagues are designed to provide a competitive, organized, and enjoyable environment for players of varying skill levels. Officials play an important role in creating that environment by maintaining game flow, promoting player safety, and applying the rules fairly and consistently.

This is an excellent opportunity for current or former basketball players, coaches, university athletes, teachers, or anyone with a strong understanding of basketball who is looking for part-time work.

Previous officiating experience is not required. Successful applicants will receive training, league-specific instruction, and ongoing support from league administration.

Position Overview

As an Adult Basketball League Game Official, you will officiate recreational adult basketball games while helping maintain a safe, fair, and enjoyable environment for all participants.

Officials will use FIBA Rules, along with the specific modifications outlined in The Center Sports Complex Adult Basketball League rules.

We are looking for individuals who are comfortable making decisions, communicating with players, and managing the pace and flow of a competitive game.

Responsibilities

As a Game Official, you will:

- Officiate adult basketball games using FIBA Rules and league-specific modifications
- Maintain control and flow of the game
- Make fair, confident, and consistent decisions
- Promote player safety and sportsmanship
- Manage player conduct professionally and respectfully
- Communicate clearly with players,



coaches, and other game staff
- Address situations calmly and appropriately
- Record final game scores and submit game results
- Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled games
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Represent The Center Sports Complex in a professional manner
- Follow all league policies and procedures

Qualifications We're looking for candidates who have:

- A strong understanding of basketball rules and gameplay
- Basketball playing and/or coaching experience
- The confidence to make decisions under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain calm and professional in competitive situations
- Reliability and punctuality
- Professionalism when interacting with players and staff
- Weekday evening availability

Previous officiating experience is an asset but is not required. Current or former basketball players, coaches, university athletes, teachers, and individuals with strong basketball knowledge are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

Adult Basketball League games are played during the fall season:

- Tuesday evenings – Women's League
- Wednesday evenings – Men's League
- Thursday evenings – Co-Ed League

Game times are scheduled between approximately 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM.



Officials may work one or multiple games per evening depending on availability and league scheduling.

There may be opportunities to work regularly on one evening per week or across multiple league nights.

Compensation & Benefits

- Starting wage of $30.00 per game
- Higher game rates may be offered based on experience and qualifications

Training & Start Date All successful applicants must be available to attend staff training in August 2026.

The Adult Basketball League season begins September 8, 2026.

League-specific training and orientation will be provided before the start of the season.
