Prospect Reporting to a Team Leader in PI Underwriting and Billing, this role is accountable for assisting brokers and customers with complex underwriting, billing, product, and pricing inquiries. The incumbent reviews and approves underwriting and billing exceptions within authority limits, handles referrals beyond their authority, and communicates rationale for risk appetite, product, guideline changes, and premium dislocations. All decisions are clearly explained to brokers to ensure understanding of our policies.

Responsibilities • Process complex transactions not supported by broker self‑service, including billing inquiries, new business, policy changes, claims alerts, and reinstatement exceptions, in accordance with underwriting guidelines and authority.

- Review and assess risk for intermediate/advanced scenarios, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and authority. Escalate scenarios requiring higher authorization and provide a well‑documented business case with recommendations and proposed terms.
- Handle inquiries and transactions via phone and email while maintaining high customer service standards.
- Work with Center Systems Management to create and monitor system‑related incidents.

Qualifications - Minimum 1 year completed as an Insurance Representative (required)

- 2+ years of Personal Insurance underwriting experience (required)
- Bilingual (French and English) is an asset
- University degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience




- CIP designation or working toward it is preferred
- Knowledge of Economical’s PI offerings and Guidewire systems is an asset
- Knowledge of Economical’s CI, claims, and billing systems is an asset
- Strong understanding of property and casualty insurance, auto and property underwriting, and billing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coach and provide guidance to others
- Ability to solve problems and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
