We are seeking a dedicated Welder Helper to support our Welding and Brazing projects. The ideal candidate will assist skilled welders in preparing materials, setting up equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in welding, and fabrication processes within a dynamic team environment. Candidates should possess a robust work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn new skills.
Duties
- Assist welders with setup and preparation of welding equipment, including MIG and TIG welding processes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for assembly and fabrication tasks
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment
- Measure materials accurately using calipers and basic math skills to ensure proper fitment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety standards
- Support the use of schematics for precise fabrication and assembly tasks in manufacturing or construction environments
Qualifications
- Canadian work experience will be an asset
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques such as MIG and TIG welding preferred; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with mechanical concepts, blueprint reading, schematics, and assembly processes
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment is advantageous
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment withstanding standing for extended periods and lifting heavy materials
- Commitment to safety procedures and willingness to learn industry best practices
