Love craft beer? Interested in learning how it's made from grain to glass?

Tanner & Co. Brewing is looking for an Assistant Brewer to join our small production team in Chester Basin.

We're looking for someone who is hardworking, curious, dependable and genuinely interested in craft beer. Previous brewery experience is certainly an asset, but it isn't required. Homebrewing experience is great too. More importantly, we're looking for someone with the right attitude who wants to learn, isn't afraid of physical work, and takes pride in doing things properly.

If you're willing to learn, we're willing to teach.

This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to be involved in virtually every part of the brewing process. You'll work alongside our brewer producing everything from lagers and IPAs to Belgian styles, sours, barrel-aged beers, cider and mead, while learning the day-to-day operation of a working craft brewery.

What You'll Do

- Assist with brew days from grain-in through knockout
- Assist with cellar work including transfers, dry hopping, carbonation and conditioning
- Operate and assist with our canning and packaging equipment
- Clean, fill and maintain kegs
- Clean and sanitize tanks, brewing equipment and production areas
- Monitor and document production and quality-control records
- Assist with raw material and finished-product inventory
- Receive and organize ingredients and production supplies
- Help with recipe development, trials and small-batch brewing
- Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Pitch in wherever needed to keep a small brewery running smoothly

And yes,



there is a lot of cleaning. Great beer depends on it.

Who We're Looking For

- 19 years of age or older
- Genuine interest in beer and the brewing process
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Excellent attention to detail
- Focus on safety, quality and consistency
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a physical production environment
- Able to lift 50 lbs and safely move kegs, pallets and other brewery materials using pallet jacks and hand trucks
- Comfortable with early mornings and occasional changes in production schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent

Previous commercial brewing, cellar, packaging, food production or homebrewing experience is an asset, but not required.
