We are seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our maintenance team as part of a planned succession process. Our current Maintenance Lead is planning to retire within the next 1–2 years, providing the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to work alongside him and learn the building, its systems, equipment, and maintenance practices firsthand.
The first year will focus heavily on hands-on training and mentorship in an apprenticeship-style capacity, with the goal of developing the skills and knowledge needed to eventually step into the Maintenance Lead position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in building maintenance while taking on increasing responsibility and receiving extensive training from an experienced professional.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and complete room turnovers.
Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs.
Conduct annual room and building inspections.
Order, receive, and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers as required.
Maintain building grounds and common areas.
Identify and troubleshoot building-related issues.
Assist with preventative maintenance projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in building maintenance,
property maintenance, or a related field.
Valid driver's license is considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under time-sensitive conditions.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical capability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting, carrying, bending, and climbing as required.
Hours of Work
- 20 - 30 hours per week.
