Pay: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated skill level

Position Overview

Definitive! Automotive Detailing is seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Painter / Refinishing Technician to join our growing automotive team.

The successful candidate will prepare, refinish, and paint vehicle surfaces with precision. This position is best suited for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, works efficiently, and consistently delivers clean, qualified-quality finishes.

Responsibilities

- Clean, sand, feather, fill, prime, and prepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing
- Properly mask vehicles, trim, panels, and surrounding areas before painting
- Mix and match automotive paint to achieve accurate colour and finish results
- Apply primer, base coat, clear coat, and touch-up paint using professional spray equipment
- Blend repaired areas into surrounding panels when required
- Inspect completed work for runs, dust, uneven coverage, colour differences, and other imperfections
- Wet-sand, polish, and correct painted surfaces when necessary
- Safely operate spray guns, sanders, polishers, power tools, and hand tools
- Assist with minor bodywork, panel preparation, and vehicle reassembly when required
- Maintain painting equipment and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all workplace safety procedures when handling paint, solvents, and hazardous materials




- Complete assigned work efficiently without compromising quality

Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of professional automotive painting or refinishing experience is required
- Experience working in an auto body, collision repair, restoration, or automotive refinishing environment is preferred
- Strong understanding of surface preparation, paint application, blending, and finishing techniques
- Experience using automotive spray guns, sanding equipment, polishers, and related tools
- Ability to identify and correct common paint imperfections
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality results
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and capable of meeting reasonable deadlines
- Able to safely lift and handle automotive parts, equipment, and materials
- Knowledge of WHMIS and automotive refinishing safety procedures is considered an asset
- A valid Ontario driver’s licence is considered an asset
