Newcomer Women Services Toronto – Integrated Employment Services (IES) program is facilitating the recruitment process on behalf of one of our employment partners for this position. We're looking for a talented BackEnd Engineer (JS/TS) with a strong backend focus to join our growing team.

In this role, you'll contribute to the design, development, and delivery of modern cloud-native applications while working with emerging technologies, AI solutions, and scalable backend services. You'll collaborate with a highly skilled development team to build innovative solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences. You'll collaborate closely with developers, UI/UX designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions.

Designing and developing backend services, APIs, and data layers for cloud-native applications. Building and maintaining scalable backend architectures using modern development practices. Collaborating with UI/UX teams to ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend components.





Exploring emerging cloud and AI technologies through research, experimentation, and proof-of-concept initiatives. Participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, integration, and deployment. Contributing to high-quality, secure, and enterprise-ready solutions that align with best practices for performance, security, and compliance.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and technically robust developer who enjoys solving complex problems, building scalable applications, and exploring new technologies. A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Three or more years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development, with a strong emphasis on backend development.

Proven experience contributing to application development projects as a backend or full-stack developer. Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js. A passion for innovation and a desire to work with cloud-native architectures and emerging AI technologies.
