Job Summary

We are a family-owned café looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking part-time Barista to join our team.

As a Barista, you’ll prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, matcha, iced beverages, light food, and pastries while providing friendly and efficient customer service. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working in a quick-paced environment, takes initiative, and helps keep the café clean, organized, and welcoming.

Applicants must be available to work Thursdays, Fridays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, matcha, and other specialty beverages according to café recipes and standards
- Take customer orders and provide friendly, attentive service
- Operate Shopify POS and accurately process cash, debit, and credit card transactions
- Prepare and serve light food and pastries as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized coffee bar, service area, food preparation area, and equipment
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Restock cups, ingredients, food, beverages, and other supplies throughout the shift
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Manage multiple orders efficiently during busy periods while maintaining drink and service quality
- Communicate and work well with other team members
- Help create a welcoming and positive experience for every customer





Qualifications & Skills
- Previous barista, café, restaurant, or food-service experience is an asset
- Experience using a POS system is an asset; Shopify POS experience is a plus
- Food Handler Certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain certification
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Friendly and confident when interacting with customers
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts consistently
- Able to stay organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Comfortable handling cash and processing transactions accurately
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Willing to learn our drink recipes, menu, and service standards

Availability Must be available Thursdays, Fridays, and weekends.

Daytime availability is required. Availability for opening and/or closing shifts is an asset.

- Expected hours: Approximately 15–25 hours per week
