SUMMARY: The Bartender will follow all standards, policies and procedures relating to food and beverage service as laid out by the General Manager & Beverage Manager with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction. The goal for all our staff is to ensure that all guests enjoy their tailored visit while optimizing profits through suggestive selling and the Bartender will lead by example in this pursuit.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

- Prepare beverages, accurately to recipe specs, and mix and match ingredients in cutting-edge ways when necessary

- Greet in a timely fashion; interact with customers, always exuding warmth and friendliness

- Stay updated on current menu items, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen is running out of any items, note any daily menu features

- Answer questions about food, beverages, wine and other restaurant functions and services; explain/romance the menu concept and style when necessary

- Assess guests’ needs and preferences and make recommendations; be familiar and knowledgeable with all food and beverage items





- Be responsive and helpful regarding off-menu items such as classic cocktails and expand personal knowledge in this area as much as possible

- Introduce each dish presented to diners with a high degree of detail

- Excellent product knowledge, and upsell where possible

- Ring in orders accurately, adding details where needed

- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience

- Check guests’ identification and confirm they meet the legal drinking age if needed

- Obtain revenues, issue accurate receipts, accept payments, return change promptly

- Work closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure prompt service is given at all times

- Take initiative and get creative in resolving guest challenges and involve a supervisor or Manager during the conflict resolution process

- Ensure that all cash discrepancies are reported to the Supervisor or Manager

- Ensure that cash is always secure.

- Check notes on reservations (i.e. VIP, In-house guest, Birthday, Anniversary)

- Assist in feature creation, collaborating with management.

Pay: $17.60 per hour
