Boutique Hotel Manager & Guest Experience
Manoir Emery — Montréal, QC
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Starting Salary: $55,000/year
Manoir Emery is a newly opened 15-room boutique hotel in the heart of Montréal's Quartier Latin. We are looking for a Boutique Hotel Director to lead the day-to-day operations of the property and deliver a highly personalized, attentive guest experience.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys the intimate and dynamic setting of an independent boutique hotel.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the hotel's daily operations and overall guest experience.
- Lead and coordinate front desk activities, housekeeping and other operational service providers.
- Ensure rooms and common areas consistently meet the hotel's standards for presentation, cleanliness and guest readiness.
- Manage guest requests, resolve issues and maintain a high standard of personalized hospitality.
- Oversee reservations, arrivals, departures and key operational hotel systems.
- Coordinate staff schedules, priorities and communication between departments.
- Establish and continuously improve operating procedures as the hotel develops following its opening.
- Work closely with ownership and provide regular updates on hotel operations, guest feedback and areas requiring attention.
Events & Local PartnershipsAn important part of the role will be helping establish Manoir Emery as an active boutique hotel within its surrounding neighbourhood. The Boutique Hotel Director will organize approximately two events per month, working with local restaurants, cafés, retailers, leisure businesses, artists and other partners.
Events may be designed for hotel guests or, on selected occasions, opened to the general public. The Director will help identify potential partners, develop concepts, coordinate logistics and oversee successful execution at the hotel.
Marketing CollaborationThe hotel has a dedicated Marketing Manager, and direct management of marketing is not a primary responsibility of this position.
The Boutique Hotel Director will, however, work closely with the Marketing Manager by communicating hotel activities, guest-experience opportunities, events and relevant operational information.
A good practical understanding of social media, hospitality marketing, branding and guest engagement is therefore expected. The Director should be comfortable recognizing opportunities that can strengthen the hotel's visibility and overall positioning.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in hotels, hospitality, guest services or a comparable service-focused environment.
- Strong leadership, organization and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional, polished and highly guest-oriented.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of day-to-day decisions.
- Strong understanding of the standards and attention to detail expected from a boutique hotel.
- Interest in Montréal's restaurant, retail, arts, cultural and hospitality scene.
- Comfortable developing relationships with local businesses and partners.
- Basic to strong understanding of social media and hospitality marketing concepts.
- Comfortable with hotel technology, reservation systems and modern operational tools.
- Excellent spoken and written English and French are essential for this position.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility for hotel events or operational requirements.
CompensationStarting salary: $55,000 per year ($4600/month gross). This position offers the opportunity to take an important leadership role in the continued development of a newly opened independent boutique hotel and to directly influence its operations, guest experience and connection with the surrounding Montréal community.
