Lyons Heritage Masonry is a Toronto-based heritage masonry studio where heritage craft and contemporary precision come together. We work on heritage restorations, adaptive reuse, custom homes, and design-led masonry projects where the details matter--from the material and mortar to the bond, joint profile, and finished expression. At Lyons, the work comes first. We are not interested in shortcuts, substitutions, or work that only looks acceptable from a distance. We work on homes where the masonry is part of the architecture and where a thoughtful detail can remain visible for generations. You will work with people who care about the material, the technique, and getting the finished result right. We are looking for an experienced Brick and Stone Mason who cares about the finished work as much as we do.

This is not subdivision masonry or high-volume production. Our projects involve detailed brickwork, natural stone, heritage materials, arches, specialty joint finishes, restoration, and custom homes. The right mason understands that masonry is often on display for a hundred years or more,



and that aesthetic and structural integrity come before speed or convenience.

You will work alongside a skilled crew, follow established project details and traditional techniques, and take responsibility for producing work that is right--not simply finished.

Key Responsibilities

- Install brick, block, natural stone, and manufactured stone to a high standard.
- Perform masonry work on heritage restoration, adaptive reuse, and custom residential projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, bond patterns, mortar requirements, joint profiles, and other project details before beginning work.
- Maintain accurate line, level, plumb, coursing, and joint consistency.
- Identify damaged, unsuitable, or incorrect materials before installation.
- Address deficiencies at the source rather than leaving problems for later.
- Follow traditional masonry techniques and project-specific conservation requirements where applicable.
- Participate in daily crew meetings covering production, assignments, materials, and safety.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and professional jobsite.
- Follow scaffold, silica-control, PPE, Working at Heights, and other safety requirements.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, architects, site supervisors, other trades, and teammates.
- Support apprentices and less-experienced masons when needed.




- Accurately track hours and communicate project progress.

Qualifications

- 3-5+ years of masonry experience.
- Strong experience with brick, block, natural stone, and/or manufactured stone.
- Heritage restoration experience is strongly preferred.
- Journeyperson Brick and Stone Mason certification, Red Seal certification, or advanced apprenticeship experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of masonry layout, workmanship, and finishing.
- Ability to read drawings and project specifications.
- Comfortable working with imperial and metric measurements.
- Ability to use builder's levels, lasers, and standard masonry tools.
- Valid G-Class driver's licence.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Own masonry tools.
- Working at Heights certification.
- WHMIS certification.
- Silica awareness training or willingness to complete it.
- Dependable, solution-focused, and comfortable taking responsibility for your work.
- Able to communicate professionally with clients and other trades.

Pay And Benefits

- Full-time, permanent position
- Pay. CA$38.00 - CA$52.00 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated skill.

- Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday, with start times and hours based on project requirements.
