Building Materials Sales & Management Position

Chimo Building Centre

Chimo Building Centre is looking for a knowledgeable, dependable, and customer-focused individual to join our team. This position requires strong knowledge of building materials and residential construction, along with excellent customer service, computer, and management skills.

Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for:

· Assisting customers with building and renovation projects from planning through to material selection

· Reading and understanding blueprints, building plans, measurements, and material specifications

· Helping customers determine the materials required for projects such as:

o Decks o Fences o Garages o Houses o Renovations and other construction projects

· Understanding how these projects are constructed and being able to provide knowledgeable advice regarding appropriate building materials

· Preparing material estimates and orders based on customer plans and project requirements

· Providing excellent customer service in person and over the phone

· Using computer programs for customer orders, estimates, inventory, and other day-to-day operations

· Working with contractors, homeowners, suppliers, and other staff

· Assisting with the organization and management of daily operations

· Supervising and supporting staff when required

· Handling customer concerns professionally and effectively





· Ensuring orders are accurate and customers receive the correct products and materials

Qualifications

Applicants must have building and construction knowledge and should have a strong understanding of residential construction and building materials.

The ideal candidate will

· Have experience in the building, construction, lumber, or building-materials industry

· Be able to read and understand blueprints

· Understand how to build and properly estimate materials for decks, fences, garages, houses, and renovations

· Have strong computer skills and be comfortable learning different computer programs

· Have excellent customer service and communication skills

· Have strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

· Have previous management or supervisory experience

· Be able to work independently and as part of a team

· Be dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a rapid-paced environment

Hours

Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Wage

Wage will be discussed based on experience and qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong construction knowledge who enjoys working with customers and helping them successfully plan and complete their building projects.

Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per hour
