BI Architect

Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid)

Duration: 1-Year Contract

We are seeking an experienced BI Architect to join our team on a 1-year contract. This role is ideal for a senior Business Intelligence professional with expertise in enterprise reporting, data architecture, advanced analytics, and AI-driven solutions. You will play a key role in designing scalable BI solutions, defining data strategy, and delivering actionable insights that support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Intelligence & Reporting

- Design, develop, and implement enterprise Business Intelligence architecture and reporting solutions.
- Build scalable reporting frameworks that transform complex data into clear, decision-ready information.
- Develop executive dashboards, scorecards, and operational reports that support business performance.
- Ensure reporting solutions are accurate, scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.

Data Analytics & Insights

- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and business insights.
- Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for business leaders and stakeholders.
- Develop data-driven strategies that improve operational efficiency and business performance.
- Support business users with ad hoc analysis and reporting requirements.

AI & Advanced Analytics

- Lead the implementation of Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Apply Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Text Mining, Deep Learning, and predictive analytics techniques to solve business problems.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative analytical approaches.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled reporting and decision-support capabilities.

Data Architecture & Modelling

- Design logical and physical data models that support enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Provide technical expertise in database architecture, dimensional modelling, and analytics frameworks.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to optimize ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.




- Ensure data integrity, consistency, performance, and governance across BI environments.

Leadership & Collaboration

- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
- Lead technical discussions and provide architectural guidance across BI initiatives.
- Mentor BI Developers, Data Analysts, and technical teams on best practices.
- Establish standards, templates, and governance for Business Intelligence solutions.
- Present technical concepts and analytical findings to executives and senior leadership in a clear and practical manner.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Architecture, or IT Consulting.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise Business Intelligence solutions.
- Strong expertise in SQL, relational databases, database reporting, and enterprise reporting platforms.
- Extensive experience with data modelling, data architecture, and analytics frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise BI projects and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts, including:
- Machine Learning
- Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Text Mining
- Deep Learning
- Pattern Recognition
- Predictive Analytics
- Experience translating complex analytical results into meaningful business insights.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise setting.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other enterprise Business Intelligence platforms.
- Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Azure SQL, or other enterprise database technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud analytics platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data quality best practices.
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
