Senior SAP Accounting Analyst – Master Data & Finance to Drive Business Process Improvement for an oil and gas company.

This role is ideal for a systems-minded accounting professional who can work closely with business stakeholders, support month-end and project close activities, and identify opportunities to improve processes.

6-month assignment with extension or option to join as an employee

Location:

Downtown Calgary

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid — 4 days in office, 1 day remote

Must Have:

5+ years of

SAP

experience, with hands-on experience in

SAP ECC

and/or

S/4HANA .

5+ years of

accounting/finance experience

with strong knowledge of accounting principles.

Hands-on experience with

SAP master data .

Experience supporting

month-end processes in SAP .

Understanding of asset accounting, capitalization and depreciation.

Experience with

project accounting

and/or

project close-outs .

Strong ability to work directly with business stakeholders and multiple business units.

Ability to understand end-to-end processes and recommend improvements.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have:

CPA designation or MBA or advanced business/accounting designation.

Experience with SAP Fiori.

Experience with WBS, cost centers, hierarchies and other SAP master data.

Oil & gas or energy industry experience.

Experience with SAP process automation or continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:





Support SAP month-end processes, project close-outs and settlements.

Create and maintain assets and SAP master data.

Support asset accounting, capitalization and depreciation processes.

Work closely with Finance and business units to resolve issues and provide recommendations.

Understand end-to-end business and accounting processes and identify process improvements.

Support SAP enhancements, testing and system improvements.

Maintain and improve master data quality and governance.

Support SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) planning and reporting activities.
